Ultrasound Image Deconvolution Using Fundamental and Harmonic Images

چکیده
Ultrasound (US) image restoration from radio frequency (RF) signals is generally addressed by deconvolution techniques mitigating the effect of system point spread function (PSF). Most existing methods estimate tissue reflectivity (TRF) so-called fundamental US images, based on an model assuming linear wave propagation. However, several human tissues or with contrast agents have a nonlinear behavior when interacting waves leading to harmonic images. This work takes this nonlinearity into account in context TRF restoration, considering both and RF signals. Starting two observation models (for images), estimation expressed as minimization cost defined sum data fidelity terms one sparsity-based regularization stabilizing solution. The high attenuation depth echoes integrated direct that relates observed TRF. interest proposed method shown through synthetic vivo results compared other methods.

High resolution image reconstruction in ultrasound computer tomography using deconvolution
Ultrasound computer tomography is an imaging method capable of producing volume images with high spatial resolution. The imaged object is enclosed by a cylindrical array of transducers. While one transducer emits a spherical wavefront (pulse), all other transducers are recording the radiofrequency (RF) a–scans simultaneously. Then another transducer acts as the emitter and so on. In this paper ...
متن کاملEstimation of Speed of Sound Using Medical Ultrasound Image Deconvolution
In diagnostic ultrasound imaging the speed of sound is assumed to be 1540 m/s in soft tissues. When the actual speed is different, the mismatch can lead to distortions in the acquired images, and so reduce their clinical value. Therefore, the estimation of the true speed has been pursued not only because it enables image correction but also as a way of tissue characterisation. In this paper, we...
متن کاملTemperature Mapping Using Ultrasound Digital Images
Introduction: The success of hyperthermia depends on the accuracy of the temperature monitoring in the tumor and the surrounding normal tissue. In this study, the temperature changes were determined by computing the speckle displacement in the ultrasound digital images. Speckle tracking algorithm was used to compute the displacement. Materials and Methods: The experiment was perf...
متن کاملDeconvolution of in-vivo ultrasound B-mode images.
An algorithm for deconvolution of medical ultrasound images is presented. The procedure involves estimation of the basic one-dimensional ultrasound pulse, determining the ratio of the covariance of the noise to the covariance of the reflection signal, and finally deconvolution of the rf signal from the transducer. Using pulse and covariance estimators makes the approach self-calibrating, as all...
متن کاملResolution Improvement of Ultrasound Images Using Deconvolution and Super-resolution Algorithms
Ultrasound imaging is a wide spread technique used to view body soft tissues, like tendons, muscle or internal organs for possible problems. These images are achieved by capturing the returned acoustic waves using an ultrasonic transducer. Due to the propagation in imperfect environment, the resolution of these images has a poor quality. This is caused by different problems like waves refractio...
